Licensing/Customizing

What sets TIFE Theatre apart is our passion for giving students agency over their production scripts. 

This starts with encouraging your troupe/company to make changes to character names, genders and romantic interests so that students feel represented by the characters they are portraying.

Second, during the rehearsal process, when students come up with an original idea for a joke, line of dialogue, or even an entire scene that is not in the original playscript, we encourage you to put it into your production script! 

We simply require that you reach out to us with any script / casting change ideas. 

There is no fee associated with us approving your changes. Simply drop us a line at jlemire@tifetheatre.com and we will either give you the go-ahead or -- in the rare instance that your change doesn't meet our respect and inclusivity threshold -- offer some alternatives.

If you would like to contract TIFE to do a rewrite on a script to meet your needs, we are here for you!

The price breakdown for script rewrites is as follows:

Changing the number of characters in the script by 1 - 3 characters: $99

Trimming or expanding a script by 5 pages or less: $99

Minor revisions and "punch-ups": $99

Major rewrite of the script: $499 

A major rewrite includes one of the following elements:

• expanding a one-act to a full length when there is not yet one in the catalogue
• changing the structure of the play to include a new plot line or theme
• a page-one rewrite to adjust the age range of the script (i.e. taking a play written for middle schoolers and rewriting it for high school actors / audiences)
