Award-winning playwright Jason Lemire has helped countless students, schools and communities tell their story.
Having served as a writer-in-residence with the Rutgers Institute on Ethnicity under mentorship of the late Dr. Clement Price and Dr. Julia Miller, Jason is passionate about amplifying voices that need to be heard and stories that need to be told.
Types of Commissions
- Your students meet with Jason via Zoom to discover exactly what kind of story they would like to tell. Jason then crafts a one-act or full-length play based on their input, including rewrites inspired by their feedback.
- If you have a piece of source material that you would like to see expanded, explored, or given a modern twist -- anything from family memoirs to traditional folktales -- Jason can work with you and your students to spin that gold into a completely original piece of work.
- Jason has years of experience working with special education programs to create inclusive pieces for unified theatre programs. After all, TIFE Theatre means "This Is For Everyone".
